LED lights

A light-emitting diode (LED) is a small solid-state device that gives off light when a current is passed through it It is commonly used in clocks to give a clear red, or sometimes green, digital display. the current flows the other way. An alternating current flows rapidly one way and then the other. What would this LED look like if it were connected to an alternating source ?
